flights

01.
Skyscanner
Skyscanner is my go-to for comparing flight prices and finding the best deals. It searches across multiple airlines and booking sites, making it easy to see all your options in one place. I love that you can filter results by the best flights, lowest prices, or shortest duration—so you can choose what matters most for your trip. Plus, the “Everywhere” search feature is perfect if you’re flexible and looking for inspiration on where to go next!
02.
Google Flights
Google Flights is another great tool for comparing prices and finding budget-friendly flights to Amsterdam. I especially love the price graph, which gives you a clear overview of the best flight options and fare trends, making it easy to spot the cheapest travel dates!

03.
Hopper
I love the Hopper app and use it religiously! It’s a great tool for comparing flights, tracking prices, and predicting the best time to book. Hopper analyzes historical pricing trends and lets you know whether to book now or wait for a better deal. The best part? You can set up alerts to get notified of price drops, so you never miss out on savings!
Accommodation
01.
Agoda
Agoda is my go-to platform for finding affordable accommodation, whether I’m looking for a hotel, guesthouse, or vacation home in Amsterdam or elsewhere in the Netherlands. The app is easy to use, and I usually find better deals than on other platforms! I also love that Agoda breaks down pricing, so you always know exactly what you’re being charged for.

02.
Booking.com
You probably already know about Booking.com, so I won’t go into too much detail. It’s a trusted hotel booking platform that often has great deals, especially if you’re part of their loyalty program, which gives you discounts the more you book.
03.
Airbnb
My fiancé and I have used Airbnb quite a bit over the past two years while traveling in Europe. It’s a fantastic option if you’re looking for your own space and want to come and go as you please. Another plus is that you can often score discounts on weekly or monthly stays if you stay longer.

Tours & Activities

01.
GetYourGuide
GetYourGuide is my go-to for unique, local experiences. Whether it’s a food tour through Amsterdam’s best markets or a guided museum tour, they have a bunch of fantastic options. I also love reading the reviews to see what other travelers recommend. It’s definitely my favorite for finding immersive and off-the-beaten-path activities.
02.
Klook
Klook is my go-to for tours and activities when I’m traveling in Asia, but they’ve recently expanded their offerings in the Netherlands. I really appreciate their budget-friendly deals, exclusive promos, and rewards system. Another big perk for me is that they provide all the important details—like meet-up points and duration—upfront before purchasing.

03.
Viator
If you haven’t found the right tour yet, another option I love to use is Viator. I typically turn to it when I’m looking for something a bit more unique and personal.
Other Useful Tools & Resources
I Amsterdam Card
The Amsterdam city card can save you money—if you’re planning to visit lots of attractions. It includes free entry to places like the Rijksmuseum, A’DAM Lookout, Muiderslot Castle, plus unlimited public transport and a canal cruise. But do the math! If you’re only visiting a couple of spots, it might not be worth it.
NS App
The Netherlands has a fantastic train network, making it super easy to explore big cities or smaller spots. While locals rave about the 9292 app, I’m not a huge fan of it. I prefer the NS app—the official Dutch railway app. It shows real-time schedules, travel updates, and even pricing across different transport modes. If you’re curious about other handy tools, I’ve rounded up the best travel apps for the Netherlands here.
